 rague\, coordinator and professor of music at Oakton College. \n\n \n\nThe
  annual juried women’s exhibition presents selected works that illuminat
 e life at the gender margins. This year\, the College invited female-ident
 ifying\, trans\, and non-binary professional artists to submit a single wo
 rk that provides social commentary on life at the gender margins. In respo
 nse\, Oakton received submissions from artists in the Chicago area as well
  as many national and international submissions. Twenty-nine artists were 
 selected. Their pieces delve into the complex landscape of gender and its 
 intersections with socioeconomic\, racial\, ethnic\, religious\, ability-b
 ased and geographic identities. The exhibition explores both the challenge
 s and the glimmers of joy found in our current moment\, envisioning these 
 experiences as seeds for imagining and creating better futures. It offers 
 a powerful commentary on the duality of tragedy and hope in our world.\n\n
  \n\nViewings of the exhibition run from October 3 through November 1 at t
 he Koehnline Museum of Art during regular museum hours of 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
