About this Event
1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016
The Humanities and Philosophy department invites you to a vigil of of musical performances, poetry and activities centering on peace, mourning, solidarity and healing.
This gathering seeks to bear witness to the sufferings of all those affected by the ongoing war in Gaza and its surrounding regions and to express solidarity with those who seek lasting peace and justice. Over a year into this spiraling conflict, this vigil calls for a renewed commitment to nonviolent and just solutions.
If you have a suggestion for an appropriate piece or would like to read or perform, contact Professor Ahalya Satkunaratnam at asatkunaratnam@oakton.edu or Professor Carlos Briones at cbriones@oakton.edu.
