Participate in the Open Auditions for the String Ensemble at Oakton. Directed by Daniel Golden, the String Ensemble performs several times a year including two full concert programs in the Footlik Theater at Oakton College. Recent programs have featured works for string orchestra by Mozart, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Piazzolla, Marquez, Ellington and W. Grant Still. We also presented music from artists such as Sting, Talking Heads, Gloria Estefan and Matisyahu. 

Members of the String Ensemble have the opportunity to present solos in front of the group and we have invited some wonderful guest artists including instrumentalists, singers and dancers to perform on our concerts.

The Fall 2024 repertoire includes Corelli’s Concerto Grosso, op. 6 no. 10, the Waltz from Tchaikovsky’s String Serenade, selections from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Barber Adagio for Strings and Carl Nielsen’s evocative Little Suite for Strings. We would love to for you to join us. 

Audition Requirements and Contact Information:
