Tom Braxton has worked in electromagnetic compatibility and regulatory compliance for 42 years. After 23 years at Bell Labs, he was an independent EMC consultant and followed that as a compliance engineer at Shure Incorporated. Tom has consulted in patent law, product-test marketing, and standards development. He is a Life Senior Member of the IEEE and an IEEE EMC Society Member since 1981 and has served two terms on the EMC Society Board of Directors. Tom is currently Vice-Chair of the IEEE EMC Society Chicago Chapter. He chairs Technical Committee 1 on EMC Management and was the General Chair of the 2005 IEEE International EMC Symposium held in Chicago. Tom is an Associate Editor of the EMC Society Magazine and a monthly contributor to LinkedIn on behalf of the EMC Society. Tom has iNARTE certifications as an EMC Engineer and an ESD Engineer and Amateur Radio license WB9VRW and holds a BSEET from Purdue University and an MSEE from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
