Speaker Bio: Dr. Shay Welch is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Spelman College. Recently, she was the 2020-2021 Carnegie Corp. and Rockefeller Foundation Distinguished Research/Creative Scholar. She was Chair of the Association for Feminist Ethics and Social Theory. Her areas of research include Social/Political Philosophy, Feminist Ethics, and Native American Philosophy. Her publications include two recent books Choreographing as Embodied Critical Inquiry and The Phenomenology of a Performative Knowledge System: Dancing with Native American Epistemology (both from Palgrave McMillan).
