Creation and Re-Creation.

The Oakton String Ensemble, directed by Daniel Golden will feature two rarely heard masterpieces in our May concert. We will play a suite from Darius Milhaud’s La création du monde which was inspired by African myths and American jazz. Claudio Santoro's vibrant Ponteio re-creates the colors and rhythms of Brazilian folk music for the concert stage. The String Ensemble program also includes selections from Bach' Concerto in D minor for two violins, Handel's Watermusik, Beethoven's String Quartet op. 18 #4 and Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
