Day of Silence, held in April, is a day-long vow of silence taken by students, staff, and faculty to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQIA2+ community members. This year's Day of Silence is observed on Friday, April 4.

Night of Noise is an event that follows the Day of Silence. This is a time for students, staff, and faculty to break the silence and celebrate their identities. This year, Oakton's Night of Noise Drag Show is on April 11. Admission is free; cash donations for performers are welcome. The LGBTQIA2+ Advisory Council is excited to feature four performers: Spade Slick, Synthetic, Chifaguette, and Chanel Mercedes Benz. Join them in celebrating the wonderful diverse and intersectional identities that make Oakton College so special!
