Join us to celebrate the launch of the Research, Innovation and Creative Engagement (RICE) Center at Oakton College! This brand-new initiative provides students the opportunity to participate in faculty-mentored research and creative projects and explore career pathways in the liberal arts.

 

The celebration will include:

4 p.m.: Ribbon Cutting of the new RICE Center Space (Room 2446 on the Des Plaines campus)

4:15 p.m.: A Keynote Presentation by Dr. Bobby J. Smith II: "Feeding Black Futures: How Conducting Research on Food Power Politics Redefines the Struggle for Civil Rights" (Koehnline Lobby, and via Zoom)

5:15 p.m.: Presentations by RICE Center Student Fellows on their creative projects and findings from mentored research (Koehnline Lobby, and via Zoom)

6:15 p.m.: Reception (RSVP to the Reception Here)
