About this Event

Pavel Amromin, a world-renowned sculptor known for his thought-provoking figurative works, has captivated audiences across the country. Join as he hosts a live workshop in the Ceramics Lab, where he will demonstrate his sculpting techniques and share the stories behind his acclaimed art. He is a figurative sculptor working primarily in clay.
His work often incorporates animal or animal-human hybrid imagery and draws from Western literary traditions. He works in series, exploring a subject or theme over several years. While his materials, techniques, and even stylistic approaches shift from series to series, his overarching themes remain consistent, examining the human condition, particularly folly, hubris, and man’s inhumanity to man. These ideas are not new; they have been with us for centuries and, unfortunately, do not seem to be improving.
This event is free and open to the public. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from one of the leading voices in contemporary ceramics. Special thanks to the RICE Center and Educational Foundation.
